Reese Witherspoon started seriously pursuing an acting career after she was enrolled in Stanford University. Early successes in the field of critical success included parts in movies like Pleasantville and Election but it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office smash Legally Blonde that marked a pivotal moment in her career. Witherspoon received the Academy Award, in 2005 for her performance in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are some of her recent movies.
